BREAKING NEWS:  Abbot House Nursery has been chosen as the charity partner for the Southern Co-operative food store in Faversham Road, Seasalter, as part of their community initiative, ‘Love Your Neighbourhood.’

The fundraising partnership will begin on 14 March 2018 and the end date will be 31 January 2019.

Abbot House was awarded a grant of £8000 from Tesco, Whitstable to develop the nursery grounds.   The ‘Bags of Help’ initiative is Tesco’s local community grant scheme where the money raised by the sale of carrier bags is being used to fund thousands of local projects in communities right across the UK.

The money awarded to Abbot House was used to fund a new canopy and a multi-use play area that can be used in all weathers.

The children, families and staff are delighted with their new front entrance and canopy.

“With all this recent wet weather the canopy was installed just in time for our families!  We would like to thank Tesco and everyone who voted for Abbot House” said Karen Billington, Abbot House Nursery Manager.

“The new area has transformed the nursery entrance.  It’s now so colourful and inviting.  My son really likes the new colourful number snake, and I love the new canopy which keeps me sheltered from any rain before the nursery opens” said Donna Care, Nursery Parent.

The canopy was installed by SBI Ltd and the playground and surface by SSP Specialised Sports Products Ltd.
